The Gyro Nook in Harker Heights

The customer service was amazing. I enjoyed the food. If you aren't a big eater, get the.half unless you want to save some for later. The portions were huge. I loved their sauce, they don't have the traditional gyro sauce which was ok. I had the spicey sauce that they make up which has a mild kick but it's soooooooooooo good.

I was disappointed the two cashiers upfront we're not friendly at all. The female look like she didn't want to be there the male cashier just look like he didn't know what he was doing they don't sell cakes or cheesecakes anymore and when they brought out our food. The pita bread was so thin when I picked up my sandwich all of meat fell out and the fries were so salty. I told the female about the fries and she just looked at me and didn't say anything. I asked for a to-go box the male cashier gave it to me and I told him about the fries and all he said I'm sorry there was a couple there and they also said that the fries were salty. I love this place used to go there all the time and never had a problem the food was good and delicious. But for some reason today was not good at all it ruin my dinner.

I love these gyros! I usually get a full traditional gyro with lamb and everything on it , feta cheese, and the sauce ... omg! So good! The fries also have this really yummy seasoning.....I eat it all! It's like $12 for the full meal and a drink but it completely fills you up. Im full after I eat half the gyro but save the rest for later 😉😉 So worth it! Def recommend

Food tasted great. But way too much hype on service and price. 01 December 2018, 7:05 pm. Saturday .First from walking in to ordering to eating took twenty minutes. Then the soda machine was broken. I was told I would only be charged for sandwich and fries but that was not true. Secondly, these guys missed putting French fries with my combination the FRIES NEVER CAME. Thirdly, the second meal I ordered NEVER came out! I had to remind them to serve me! Two stars is too high for this place. But the food tasted great and restraunt was clean. I will not be coming back. I am taking my gyro business elsewhere.

Had the 1/2 lamb lunch special. Tasty and filling. Will return.

The food was absolutely amazing, at a good/reasonable cost too. I ended up getting a large gyro combo with a sweet tea to go, and almost had to turn back around for a second helping. They do have a drive-thru which made the stop super convenient and the girl at the window was very friendly and professional. For being a more cooked and prepared dish unlike a regular fast food chain, they got the food to me in a timely fashion. I was happy with the whole visit.

The sandwich is tasty—if you like thousand island or french sauce, which i don’t—but this is NOT A GYRO! This is a “pita pit,” no actual gyros on the menu! No soft naan-like bread, no tzatziki sauce, and im not sure if this was a beef/lamb mixture—isnt that what gyros are supposed to be? The meat was generous and delicious and the fries seasoning was great (tho heavy). But i really wanted a gyro.

First time coming here, the place was small but definitely had a nice feel to it. Husband ordered the lamb burger but only considered it ‘decent’ I had half a gyro with chicken and a side of fries. The gyro was filled with cucumber, tomato, and onion and a different sauce than what I’m accustomed to but overall I definitely enjoyed it. The French fries were really good. A little pricey for the portions but will come again if in the area.

I'm sorry, but you can't call yourself Gyro Nook and offer gyros only to smother it in a "house sauce" with no option for tzatziki. If I could describe the house sauce in short, it would be "extra-tangy, watered-down thousand island dressing". I just don't get it. I'm honestly baffled more than anything that you could own a gyro restaurant and just not have tzatziki sauce. "That's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for him"

A little different than the traditional gyro but I like it for that! Also makes for a tasty salad. Love the atmosphere. Great little spot!

I didn’t realize it was Hungarian based. The sweet thousand island tasting sauce caught me off guard. I’m sure the other food is good, but I wasn’t happy with the gyro. I was hoping for tzatziki sauce and they said they didn’t serve tzatziki. They use a sauce that they put their own spin on. I wish I would have known before I spent $8 on a gyro, I unfortunately did not like. The sauce ruined it for me. I understand they are Hungarian based but they should offer tzatziki sauce as well. I probably won’t be back.

Excellent, the presentation was lovely and the flavor combo was nice. If you order something here I recommend getting it all the way. Leaving things off leaves out elements of flavor they built.

This is a nice, clean quaint restaurant. Food was excellent I've eaten here twice and the Gyros are delicious and pricing is very reasonable I would say really good!! Definitely going to come back again.

They are always so friendly whenever I eat here and the food always comes out fast and perfect hands down the best place to eat

I wanted to like it so much but it was just not good!! The fries were hard and really sweet and the gyros was also sweet the sauce wasn’t like a cucumber sauce waste of 11 bucks won’t be returning

Hidden gem in Harker Heights! Food is delicious and atmosphere is fun and relaxed! The menu had a nice, unexpected variety to it also! Google maps took us to the wrong spot but luckily we found it next to Bahama Buck's shaved ice! We will definitely be back!

This is the worst gyro I ever tasted in my life and I’m from Chicago this wasn’t it ...they don’t even have the white sauce for the Gyro...meat looks questionable...No sir this isn’t it

This place has delicious, fresh food! It’s not the typical tzatziki sauce you get on a gyro but a spicy garlic sauce that is so good. Definitely worth the trip.

The best sandwich shop in the area! The food IS FRESH and fast! Service is awesome and bathrooms are spotless! Keep it up guys y'all are our families new sandwich spot!

Amazing service! I've been here a few times and they've always had the best gyros around. Try the regular sauce!

Atmosphere was nice, although the quantity of food for the price is not worth it. Menu was confusing; too many options to add to price. Thought we were getting combos with drink and fries for roughly $10-12 dollars; bargain. But not so. Two for lunch cost me $22 for a half and a full combo meal.Pita bread is small and can only hold a small portion of meat. Vegetables we're good. Not the traditional tzaziki sauce. Little surprising.

Not sure how a person messes up someone's order when they are sitting next to you taking it and literally call it back to you verbatim how you said it, but here we are

Wonderful little gyro joint tucked away by Walmart. Great atmosphere very spacious and very well maintained. Food was great and filling as well.

Healthy portions of some great Hungarian style gyros. The decor and vibe of the place was really nice. Their salads were good and may I suggest the lamb! You could even hear them carving it to order!

We were curious about this place after driving to Bahama Bucks and decided to give it a try. The food is outstanding! Great flavor and good selection to choose from. It’s nice to have something different to choose from here in the Killeen/Harker Heights area. Lots of corporate chains that are good but get old. Try this place out and support local business! We will definitely be coming back.

Unique and delicious gyros. Highly recommend the Gyro Plate and the Villager wrap. Fries are always hot and fresh and seasoned with a different type of spice blend than your usual salt or season-all. Definitely big plates at decent prices

Gyro Nook has excellent food and a great vibe for dine in. Staff occasionally mixes orders up for take away but overall tend to be very on top of it and very friendly.

The food was good! The only thing negative I have to say is that they put a little too much of the sauce on my lamb gyro. Shannon had great customer service and was very helpful!

Always taste good! Love the seasoning on the French Fries! Toninght I ordered the Hungarian with the sauce on the side and fries. Angel was very polite and helpful!

Quick service, plentiful food, always hot and fresh. Clean environment. Only thing different is the sauce used on the gyros because its not tzatziki sauce, but rather, a Hungarian based house sauce. Still tastes amazing, especially with fries.

Nice little place to stop and grab a bite. The signs posted added a bit of fun 😀. The food was good, was surprised they didn't have tzatziki, but the house sauce was actually really good. The prices are reasonable, and I like that you have the choice to sit inside or outside.

Gyro Nook was very good, friendly Staff and Service, with one minor exception they forgot the Onions! Other than that everything was fine !
